FAQ
BackQuick guide to storage, sharing, import, export, and the core workflow.
What is storage mode (Cloud vs Local)?▾
Each project can run in Cloud or Local mode.
Cloud: Media and snapshots are synced to the cloud. You can share with others and access from different devices. Use Save to upload changes.
Local: Files stay on your device only. Media is not uploaded to the cloud. Best for sensitive work or when you want to save cloud space.
Toggle per-project in the editor header (Cloud / Local). Set the default for new projects in Workspace Settings.
How do I share a project?▾
Use the Share button in the editor. Enter the collaborator's email—they receive a link to open the project.
The project must be in Cloud mode and saved to the cloud. Shared users open it as guests: they can add markups and comments but cannot change the main project settings.
How do I import a project?▾
On the Home page: use Import or drop a .zip file exported from VideoMarkApp.
The zip must contain the standard structure (manifest.json, video, snapshots). Imported projects use your workspace's default storage mode—Cloud or Local.
You can also create projects by dropping video or image files directly onto the home page.
How do I export?▾
Two options:
- Export (ZIP): Full project backup—video, snapshots, metadata, and a PDF report. Use this to move or archive projects.
- Export PDF: Generates a report with cover page, staffing summary (tags/hours), and one page per snapshot. Branded with your workspace theme if configured.
How do snapshots work?▾
Pause the video, then draw on the frame or add tags/hours. The app creates a snapshot at that timecode and shows it in the right sidebar. Use the snapshot list or keyboard (up/down arrows) to move between them.
Press and hold the delete icon until the progress fill completes to delete a snapshot.
How do I add markups and tags?▾
Pick a tool (Draw / Rect / Circle / Arrow / Text) and draw on the video. Use Select to move/resize objects.
Click a tag to activate it and type hours for effort estimation. Click Tags in the top bar to manage available tags.
